INDUCTION HOBS
They produce heat in form of magnetic fields and they also use insuctive sensors to detect metal pans hence require special pans to be used.(pans with metal plates)
They mostly have issues with the inverter boards and power boards and can show errors like pans not detected or not powering on. the inverter boards have transistors which burn out and power boards blow fuses.
CERAMIC HOBS
They use heating elements to produce heat and these are controlled by energy regulators, temperature sensors and thermal fuses, their top covers is made of ceramic and most common faults is blown thermal fuses, energy regulators temperature sensors and cut offs or controls, some of them have got electric touch controls with with capacitive or optic sensors which also fail most cases
electric Hobs
These are the most common hobs of the old school fashion, they use electric heaters and are controlled by energy regulators and temperature sensors and cut offs, these once heaters fail can cause earth leaks or temperature sensors and controls can fail and can cause either over heating due to uncontrolled prolonged heating or fail to function at all, they are usually made of sold heater blocks.
